2024-2025 Grants
The Estonian Cultural Foundation Australia (ECFA) has announced $50,125 in funding for the 2024-2025 Financial Year. The total is the largest amount handed out to applicants to date and reflects the diverse range of quality projects and activities undertaken by the Estonian community across five states (NSW, WA, VIC, QLD and SA).

Combined Estonian Children’s Playgroups | General Camp Funding (5-12 Jan 2025) To bring teachers and key coordinators together from the various ‘Mudilasringid’ (Children’s Playgroups). Kooskõlas Segakoor (National Mixed Choir) | Laulupidu (Song Festival) Member Registration To support the National Mixed Choir’s efforts in applying for and auditioning for the XXVIII Laulupidu (Song Festival) to be held between 3-6 July 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia. This grant assists with the costs of registration for the Song Festival and covers expenses associated with the two required audition recordings. | 4,300 |
Melbourne’i Eesti Ühing “Kodu (Melbourne Estonian Society) | Melbourne Estonian Language Camp Provide funds to help conduct an Estonian children’s language camp held on 13–15 September 2024, at Anglesea YMCA Discovery Camp. Eesti.org.au (Australian Estonian Media Project) | Australian Estonian Media Project Financing To support the virtual national team running https://eesti.org.au and looking to commission specific original content from professional Australian-Estonian journalists/writers in the coming year. Austraalia/ Sydney Virmalised | Keskpõrandale Kokku Concert (9 Nov 2024) To host a free folk dance concert celebrating 90 years since the first recorded Estonian folk dance performance in Australia and 65 years of dancing under the name of ‘Virmalised’. The concert will be held at Sydney Latvian House (32 Parnell St, Strathfield NSW 2135) starting at 1:30 pm and will invite other Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian and Eastern European dance groups to perform. | 1,500 |

Kunsti~ Käsitöö ja Etnograafiaring | Rahvariided Library To assist the Sydney Arts, Crafts and Ethnographic Group with the continued development of an accessible ‘library’ of Estonian rahvariided (folk costumes) in Australia. They aim to collect pre-loved garments, be it on loan or donation, then repair, clean, maintain and lend out to people when needed for performances. They will also look to make new items from hand-made materials purchased in Estonia, especially children’s clothes. | 1,000 |

2022-2023 Grants
The Estonian Cultural Foundation Australia (ECFA) has announced $22,840 in funding for the coming year. Applications were received from groups in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The Oaks Historical Society Inc, Wollondilly Heritage Centre & Museum | Kungla Sign Restoration Thirlmere was a significant and large Estonian village throughout the 20th century. Kungla was the main grocery store in the village centre. ECFA will contribute towards the cost of the restoration of this sign, which (we have been told) is heritage listed. | TBC |
Melbourne Eesti Maja Co-op | The project aims to digitise all the Melbourne Estonian House Co-op records so that we reduce the amount of paperwork stored, as well as having one location for all Estonian House Co-op Ltd records for easier access online. | 3,000 |

2021-2022 Grants

Sõrve | General Camp Funding This camp brings together children and their families for a week of activities which enhance their experiences with Estonian culture. The camp helps form lifetime friendships, and helps people with Estonian heritage to connect with others of similar backgrounds. In recent years we have seen this lead to greater participation in Estonian folk-dancing and the choirs. | 6,000 |

2019-2020 Awards
